The weekend of October 3 -4 will be a busy time in Dixie. Several of you have offered to come and lend a helping hand around camp. Now is the time! We are working on the “To Do” list and the “Can Do” list. Looks like we will have full days and lots of fun. Let us know if you are interested in coming up to help.

Merry Christmas
Best wishes go out to our many families at this special time of year. Hope that you all have the merriest of holidays. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Happy Holidays.
Campers Reunite
Summer 2009 will be our 95th season at Dixie. To celebrate, we will be having a Camper-Staff
Reunion. We are starting to make plans for this historic event. The reunion weekend is scheduled
for early August. If any of you are interested in helping with the planning or would like to be on the “Search Party”, please let us know. We are counting on our “Dixie Boys” and “Dixie Girls” to help make this a great event.
Merry Dixie Christmas
Merry Christmas wishes go out to all our Dixie Family and friends. We are thinking of you at this special time of year and wishing each of you the very merriest of holidays.
We are starting to look forward to next summer. The 2008 dates are up at the web site and open houses/showings are scheduled. Staff applications are coming in and camp projects are being planned for next spring.
Although winter is here, one might think that things stop at Dixie but not so. There is always work to be done. We are talking about a work week end this spring – making it a family affair. Since several of you have volunteered to help with jobs around camp – why not make it for the family? And we all know that work at camp is FUN..
To all our Dixie Family, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Missed Calls – Space Availability
We have been having trouble with our voice mail. If you have called in the past week and have not heard back from us, please call us again or email us. We do apologize for this inconvenience. We do have space still available in most of our sessions.
Update on Open House March 18, 2007- Cancelled
Anyone who was planning to attend this Open House should contact Camp Dixie to arrange an on-site, reservations required tour to learn more about Dixie’s summer program.
Snow, snow everywhere
Last Wednesday (January 31) the snow started falling and by Thursday afternoon, we had 6 inches of the white stuff in Dixie. We thought you all would enjoy seeing camp in her restful winter mode.
You can view the rest of the pictures on our PicasaWeb page.
As pretty as it is, I long for the warm days of summer. So bring on the sun and warmer days, I am looking forward to the summer, our 93rd year.
Mother-Daughter Weekend
On October 28th – 29th, we will be hosting our Fall Mother-Daughter Weekend. We would love to have all our Dixie Girls attend. You can even invite a friend and her mom as well. If you need more information contact me at the camp number or email, info@campdixie.org. Hope to see you soon.
Finally, the lake is warm.
Camp comes too early in lake warming time. Although, we definately enjoy swimming in the lake during the summer with its cool water. You would not believe how warm the lake is now! It feels wonderful.
As some of you know we are having a get together for the older ones (14 and up) this weekend at Discover Mills in Buford. Can’t wait to see everyone and hear about school. Jason and I will be looking for you on Saturday morning and we know that we will have an awesome time hanging out with you.
The next get together will be open for everyone and is planned for October. Let me know if you have any ideas for the gathering.
23 days and counting
Counting the days until your arrival and as of today there are only 23 left. The staff will come in on May 28th for a week of training as well as some of the CT’s. We are excited about having Brett and Halley back with us this summer. Some past campers will be joining our staff this year. What fun to have our family back in Dixie.
It’s not to late to have your friends sign up for camp, space is still available. Can’t wait to see you all.
This weekend will find us doing a Mother’s Day Project either working on the cabinline roof or rails on the bridge in honor of Miss Ann. Jason and I started this tradition over 6 years ago with Miss Ann supervising us. I know that she will be looking down at us on Sunday.
